First and foremost, I want to tell you that I’m no big fan of TBRs. I always tend to change the book I’m going to read that depends on my mood. It only happens rarely when I stick to my TBR unless these are books that I need to review for the publishers. As like to music, I always tend to change my music taste, but my favorites will remain as favorites. And when I REALLY like something, I become a person who wants to insert these things that I like anywhere and everywhere.
Also, if you didn’t know. This feature is hosted by the lovely people over The Broke and the Bookish.
To start off, here are the ten books that I’m ashamed for not reading:
- See Me by Nicholas Sparks
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
- Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
- The Fate of Ten by Pittacus Lore
- 99 Days by Katie Cotugno
- The Heir by Kiera Cass
- The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
- Infinite in Between by Carolyn Mackler
- An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
- Chasing Forgiveness by Neal Shusterman
Some of these books I really planned to read for the year 2015, but some books just keep piling and stacking up my shelves. Now, I don’t know where to start. Like I’ve told you, I don’t really stay on my TBR list. These are only the 2015 releases, what if you knew what I planned to read on 2015 but was not released on 2015. It will definitely blow your mind. The number count of my unread books are gigantic, so it’s best to make it a mystery.
Now I’m going to explain to you why I haven’t read these books.
See Me is a book I’ve won from a giveaway, but couldn’t begin to read because I’m too intimidated by its size.
Six of Crows almost piqued my interest, but after the next few pages, I couldn’t read anymore. It’s not really boring, but a reading slump, maybe?
Carry On is just a recent haul for me, so I will definitely read it this year.
The Fate of Ten is in one of my most favorite series, Lorien Legacies. I couldn’t read it because I just received it for Christmas, and I still have other books to read.
99 Days is one of the books I really want to read. Due to the numbers of bad reviews of this one, I just couldn’t read it, but I will soon. I got this signed before when I met her.
The Heir is beautiful, no doubt. I haven’t begun reading The Selection yet, so here’s a 2015 release that I haven’t read too. Although I badly want to read this series because of its hype.
The Rest of Us Just Live Here is a book I started to read already, but somewhere along the line, I just couldn’t read anymore (mainly because there’s another book that captivated me that made me DNF this book. I will definitely pick this up again soon.)
Infinite in Between has a cover that I really like, but despite of being hefty, I wasn’t just in the mood for its contemporary story.
An Ember in the Ashes is one of the most fantasy books I regret not reading on 2015. Like Six of Crows, this book is one of my anticipated releases, but I don’t know why I can’t bring myself to pick this book up.
Chasing Forgiveness has been sitting on my shelves for too long, although I’ve picked it up, but haven’t opened it ever. Shame on me.
Thanks for reading, everyone! I hope you all have a great Tuesday.
Do you ever struggle with TBRs? Comment below so we can talk about it.
The only book you have on there that I have read is The Heir. I loved it, obv. And, would you be interested to buddy read Six of Crows with me, Justine? 🙂

Obviously, haha! Would love to buddy-read, but now. I’m too busy with school works. I can’t even finish reading the book I’m supposed to review. Agghhh!

That’s fair, because I have too much on me, too! I just didn’t want to read it alone, because as per our other book blogging friends, Six of Crows is great for buddy reads, seeing that it has lots of feels. Haha! And I wish you luck on your school works, Justine!

Thank you! I really want to finish Six of Crows, but I have no motivation to do so. I hope this buddy-read will help. haha! 🙂

2 books in common – The Rest of Us Just Live Here and An Ember in the Ashes! 2015 was a really great year for newly released books, I just hope it was longer so we have more time reading! 🙂
P.S. I’m not a fan of TBRs either. I never stick to my lists!

I know, right. Definitely a good year for new releases!
PS. TBRs suck, right?

I absolutely loved Carry On! Definitely recommend picking it up soon 🙂 I also really want to pick up Six of Crows and The Rest of Us Just Live Here (but that ones probably not priority 😛 )

I really regret not reading these books last year, especially Carry On since I loved Fangirl.

The only book on the list I read is Carry On and I wholeheartedly recommend it. One of 2015 favorites for sure.

I am terrible at sticking to my tbr list. My mood reading tendencies take me in all sorts of different directions haha. Six of Crows was definitely a highlight for me. I’ve been on the fence about Carry On. In Fangirl, I wasn’t really interested in the Simon/Baz sections but I’ve heard so many great things about Carry On I may have to get my hands on a copy.

Saaaame. I was really excited for Six of Crows, but my mood killed it. 😦 I blame my mood.

I actually REALLY enjoyed 99 Days and haven’t been back to the Goodreads page to look through the reviews; I should do that, but…meh. Great list!

That’s good to hear. However I’m still putting off 99 Days until I’m in the mood for it.

LOL I wasn’t pushing you to read it–I was just saying, I’m one (of apparently a few) who did enjoy it. XD

Haha Six of Crows and An Ember in the Ashes seem to be a common theme in this week’s topic! I’m just as guilty. Oh well, hope for 2016. Actually I can’t say I’ve read any of the books on your list so I’m awful!

It’s okay. At least we’re all in the same boat. Have a great day, Liam! 🙂

I struggle so much with TBRs. I use the list more as a collection but, like you, I have to choose based off of my current mood (and who knows if that’ll even be on my list!). Add in the addition of good books every year and I know I have no hope 🙂 I usually don’t commit to “meaning to read” a book unless it’s a review copy or something that I have actually started.
Looks like some good books for your TTT – I hope they suit your moods for this year. Happy Reading!

TBRs suck so much! It makes everything so complicated. I don’t want to force myself to read a book I’m not in the mood for. Yes, review copies are definitely a priority. Happy reading to you too!

I bought Carry One and An Ember in the Ashes. I wanted to read them but I don’t know what happened.

I enjoyed “the rest of us just live here” & often feel like the only point in creating my blog was to go on and on about how Patrick Ness is amazing and everyone should read him (and, I guess, Jonathan Stroud too). Six of Crows has an amazing cover, but I wasn’t a huge fan of other Leigh Bardugo books I’ve read, so I am wary to invest in it.

The Fate of Ten is the only book I’ve read on this list. I thought it was amazing and full of surprises. It’s probably my favorite of the series. I’m really excited for United As One but at the same time I don’t want it to come because it’s the finale to one of my favorite series.

Ah, this makes me excited to read it but I’ll probably wait for United As One then I’ll binge read those two. Can’t wait. 🙂
