[Top Ten Tuesday] Books I Want To Re-Read

To cap off this weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, I want to say that I personally enjoy writing my top ten books about random things. This week is a freebie one which means that I can create my own title out of this Top Ten Tuesday feature. For this week, I’ll be featuring ten books that I want to re-read.

As a different kind of read, I have to be honest that I have never re-read a book ever. In my history. I’m planning to do so, but I’m too lazy to do re-read because in my mindset, I already read this book, why would I read it again? Even though I don’t fancy re-reading, I still plan to read again my favorite ones, especially my all-time favorite books.

Without further ado, here are those ten:

  1. Winger by Andrew Smith
  2. Stand-Off by Andrew Smith
  3. Legend by Marie Lu
  4. November 9 by Colleen Hoover
  5. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
  6. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
  7. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
  8. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  9. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
  10. I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

Winger has been the only book I’ve been wanting to re-read for a long time already. It’s funny and heartbreaking, and it makes me want to relive my past when I was still reading this. Definitely recommended!

Stand-Off, of course, is the sequel to Winger. I thought it was going to be worse, but it was just as good as Winger. I didn’t expect that. I totally want to read this two books again.

Legend is one of my all-time favorite books, and I met her last 2014. This series still remains as one of the best dystopian novels ever. I want a movie adaptation, pronto.

November 9 is a new-adult book that I’m head over heels with. This book just gave me the most feels ever. I love the romance and the characters. The plot twist also made this book so much better.

Everything, Everything is the proof that the cover gives justice to its story. The cover is amazing. The story is amazing. Well done.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is definitely a cute book which is about LGBT. I honestly craved for Oreos after reading this.

Queen of Shadows is one hefty book that I probably didn’t give justice when I read it. It’s such a beautiful book, and I need to re-read it again soon.

Fangirl is a book that I didn’t expect to like. They said it was boring, but it was definitely not. Cath writes this fan fiction that makes the whole story much cuter and better.

Illuminae is a sci-fi book that I really enjoyed reading. It was a book filled with fun pages like documents, chat conversations and illustrations. Not to mention its OUTSTANDING acetate cover. The only cover that needs to be given an award to.

I’ll Give You the Sun is also a book that contains LGBT elements, but how it is written is so beautiful for my eyes. It revolves around two siblings, Jude and Noah. That’s just what I only want to say. Just read it.

  1. I have only reread Fangirl and I had this plan to read it every month (because I really really love it), but I couldnā€™t because of university and blah blah blah! But, I definitely wish to reread The Mara Dyer Trilogy because it has everything that I love and no love trianglesšŸ˜

  2. Fangirl is a fantastic reread! It’s so fluffy, but at the same time it delivers the same emotions that you felt the first time you read it. Great choices for rereads, Justine.

Personally, I only reread my favorite book every year which is The Perks of Being A Wallflower because… Charlie. Hahaha. šŸ™‚

  3. I am a big fan of re-reading books. I find it helps me get out of my slumps and I just love re-visiting some of my favourite worlds/characters. Illuminae is one book I am definitely going to be re-reading; although I’ll likely re-read it when the release date for second book is closer so I can refresh my mind of the events. I’ll Give You the Sun is another re-read contender. I was so moved by this book and I just adored the relationships explored in the book.

  4. Simon, Illuminae, and Legend are definitely on my TBR. Waiting patiently for my turn to read them at the library. It’s not that I don’t like rereading books, I just never think to do it because I’m always reading new ones. I’m totally guilty of a never ending TBR. lol

  5. I’m similar to you, in that I only rarely re-read a novel. But those I do re-read I find myself coming back to re-re-read, etc. Often they are not books I thought I would read again after the first time. I have read Lord of the Rings about once a decade since my teens (and enjoy a different bit most each time), and what is now one of my favourite books that I hated when I had to read it at school, A Month in the Country.

    1. Forced read will never makes us like those books. I’m glad you love Lord of the Rings because it’s just sitting on my shelves for too long. Honestly, I have never re-read in my entire life. Hope I could change that. šŸ™‚

  6. I love rereading books because I feel like I get a lot more out of them the second time and notice things I didn’t notice during my first read, but I never have time to. I hope you enjoy all of these the second time. šŸ™‚

  7. I re-read all the time! I don’t understand people who never re-read. For me, it’s weird not to. I definitely agree with the I’ll Give You The Sun re-read. I’ll be doing that this year too. Also Fangirl. Those are both two of my favourite books. Maybe QoS too because book five might be coming out this year. So exciting!

  8. I’m with you on never re-reading books but not because of laziness, more because of guilt! There’s already so much in my to-read list that has been sitting there for so long and that I’ve never even read once, how would I justify reading something again?
