Title: Furthermore
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Publication: August 30th 2016 by Dutton Books for Young Readers
Genre: Fantasy, Middle Grade

There are only three things that matter to twelve-year-old Alice Alexis Queensmeadow: Mother, who wouldn’t miss her; magic and color, which seem to elude her; and Father, who always loved her. The day Father disappears from Ferenwood he takes nothing but a ruler with him. But it’s been almost three years since then, and Alice is determined to find him. She loves her father even more than she loves adventure, and she’s about to embark on one to find the other.
But bringing Father home is no small matter. In order to find him she’ll have to travel through the mythical, dangerous land of Furthermore, where down can be up, paper is alive, and left can be both right and very, very wrong. Her only companion is a boy named Oliver whose own magical ability is based in lies and deceit—and with a liar by her side in land where nothing is as it seems, it will take all of Alice’s wits (and every limb she’s got) to find Father and return home to Ferenwood in one piece. On her quest to find Father Alice must first find herself—and hold fast to the magic of love in the face of loss.

My thoughts:
Okay, honestly, I never thought that Tahereh’s new novel will be a middle-grade one, so I was a bit shocked when I saw the cover release and felt the middle-grade vibe. I researched and saw that it’s really middle-grade. I love the Shatter Me trilogy, thus I shall definitely read this. However, Shatter Me was the one of the most boring books I’ve ever read. Ignite Me, though, is the best among them three, so consider me excited to read this book.
Look at that amazing cover that gets a 100% score. Just plain 100%. Perfection.
About the author:
Tahereh Mafi was born in a small city somewhere in Connecticut and currently resides in Santa Monica, California, where she drinks too much caffeine and finds the weather to be just a little too perfect for her taste.
When unable to find a book, she can be found reading candy wrappers, coupons, and old receipts.
Are you excited for this? What do you think about the cover? Comment below and let’s talk about it.
That cover looks amazing, and I’m most certainly adding it to my list! I haven’t read anything by Tahereh Mafi yet, perhaps this will be a good book to start with.

I agree that the cover screams middle-grade. It seems like a very interesting story though. Middle grade is not really my style so I will be passing (I just can’t put myself in that thought process), but I hope you enjoy this 🙂

IT HAS A COVER I DIDNT KNOW LOL! I’m not a big fan of Shatter Me series but I did like it, I did find the poetic writing was a bit overdid yet beautiful at the same time, therefore I’m excited to read this one 😀

Hah sounds like a very good RPG game too. Doesn’t look like a book I would read, even though it sounds really interesting, but I’ve got my nephew reading now so maybe I’ll get it for him.

I love this cover because it is so different to anything I have seen before, and it is so colourful – I love it! I picked up Shatter Me for the first time this month, and if I am honest I found it super boring and had to put it down because I knew it was going to put me in a reading slump. The characters and plot seem as though they could be amazing I just found the writing a little young for me and it felt like nothing much happened for the first 150 pages. I know I would probably have enjoyed it if I had read it when I was younger which is a shame as I know so many people love the series! I am happy to find someone who felt the same and that you continued on with the series and enjoyed it! 🙂

I’m glad I finished the series because I love the third book compared to the first book which is completely pure of crap. The cover of Furthermore is really beautiful and I will definitely pick this up when I see it. 🙂
