Books I Badly Want to Buy this April

Wow, months just pass by so fast. It’s already April, and I have a lot of books I really want to buy this month. Since I’m keeping my book buying ban, I’ll probably end up buying some of the books I listed below. Also, I hauled like over 20 books last month, that’s why I should just read those first before adding more books to my TBR. #ShamelessLifeOfABookworm

Here are the books I’m excited to buy this April:

  1. The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

the raven king

Last month, I just bought the first three books in the Raven Cycle in preparation for this release. It’s the conclusion of the series, and the cover is just so good! I bought this series because I’m reading it along with my fellow book club members. I’m so excited to read this series.

2. The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

Ever since I saw the cover of this book, I was hooked and intrigued. I’ve been seeing this one everywhere and everyone is raving about it. The Indian mythology and retelling about this one just pique my interest. I can’t wait for its release.

3. My Seventh-Grade Life in Tights by Brooks Benjamin

my seventh grade life in tights

I already pre-ordered this one because I just couldn’t wait. The author is a friend of mine and he’s absolutely amazing. I’ve been chatting with him for a long time already. His debut middle-grade novel is all about dancing… who doesn’t want that?

4. Lady Renegades by Rachel Hawkins

I adored and loved reading Rebel Belle and Miss Mayhem, and I just realized that this book comes out this month. I’m so excited on how Hawkins will end this beautiful series with totally beautiful and to-die-for covers!

Other books I might consider buying this month:

I heard great things about these three books, but haven’t read any of their books yet.

Which April release are you excited to read? Comment below and let’s talk about it.

  1. Ooh I’ve heard so many wonderful things about The Star Touched Queen! And of course The Raven Cycle series! I still have yet to read it.

Lady Regenades was awesome! I got it in the mail early and was able to review it rather quickly! It’s surprisingly the smallest book in the entire series.

I hope you enjoy all these books! Great post 🙂

    1. It’s the smallest?!? But is it the best book among all of them? Lady Renegades should’ve been longer. Should I buy it?

Can’t wait to read The Raven Cycle too!!! And thank you!

      1. Yes. It was 276 pages. I personally liked it the best amongst all the books. Yeah I was surprised at its size. That depends on you. Do you own the first two? And are you on a budget? Some people didn’t like the ending. It made sense to me and I liked it. You could buy it and keep the receipt. Try to finish it quickly then if you don’t like it you can return it and get a refund. Make sure to see how long you have to return it and get a refund. In my bookstore if you return it after 14 days you get a gift card. If you use this method you’re saved from waiting forever from the library.

        You’re welcome 🙂

  2. I picked up The Raven Boys for myself from the library yesterday and i’m excited to see what it is about 🙂
Also I keep seeing the cover for Star Touched Queen and like you I am very intrigued. I’m looking forward to any reviews you do on these once you buy them!

  3. I haven’t read the Raven Cycle yet, I have to pick it up one day! I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Star Touched Queen. I will be reading that…one day. My seventh grade life in tights sounds interesting! 😊

  4. I’m torn, cause I also wanna buy The Raven King but I know it’s not gonna match the others on my shelf because they’re all paperback. But it also don’t wanna wait too long to read it once I binge read The Dream Thieves & Blue Lily, Lily Blue.

    SO TORN!!

  5. Like everyone else, I’m seeing The Star-Touched Queen everywhere!! I can’t wait for that release – reviewers who have the ARC keep raving about it. I’m also looking forward to When We Collided. I’ve heard great things about Emery Lord, but I haven’t gotten around to reading any of her books yet. I’m excited for that!

  6. Definitely agree with a lot of these books! I actually just met Rachel Hawkins a few days ago at a Penguin Teen Author Panel! She was so funny and sweet. We talked about how beautiful the covers of her books were, she called them little pastel Easter eggs!

  7. I’ve already preordered The Raven King because I’m a huge fan of the series! I’ve been reading them ever since the first book came out so it’s sort of a bittersweet feeling to finally see the series conclude 😢
